Job Description

 

The Executive Director will report to a highly visible and active 10-member Board of Directors, overseeing staff, operations, and finance management, as well as driving fund development, events, board development, and community relations. The role requires planning, organizing, coordinating, and executing a comprehensive fundraising program to enhance student success by engaging foundations, corporations, individual donors, alumni, and friends of the District.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Fund Development and Events:

  • Collaborate with the Board to develop and implement a comprehensive fund development plan.
  • Actively cultivate and steward individuals, foundations, and corporations.
  • Direct fundraising strategies, including major gifts, corporate sponsorships, alumni programs, planned giving, and online fundraising.
  • Develop a Peralta Colleges alumni program.

Board Development:

  • Convey information about goals and initiatives to enable effective Board support.
  • Steward and support the Board in identifying, recruiting, and on-boarding prospective board members.
  • Assist the Board in developing and implementing policies and procedures.

Management of Staff, Operations, and Finance:

  • Hire, supervise, direct, and evaluate Foundation staff and volunteers.
  • Prepare and administer an annual budget in accordance with Foundation policies.
  • Manage the Foundation's assets, disbursements, financial accounting system, and oversee investment and gift acceptance policies.
  • Ensure compliance with reporting requirements and facilitate the annual audit.

Community Relations:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with College Presidents, administrative and academic leadership, and alumni.
  • Make presentations to key District and community institutions, building relationships with influential entities.
  • Implement a public relations program for the Foundation in collaboration with the District's marketing department.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
